Coffee and Robots

Join the Students and Mentors from Hackground for coffee (on us) and conversation with Apollo, their High School Competition Robot. Also an opportunity to learn about our STEM programs for student K-12.

Have an opportunity to talk to FIRST LEGO LEAGUE Jr. (FLL Jr.), FIRST LEGO LEAGUE (FLL), FIRST TECH CHALLENGE (FTC), FIRST ROBOTICS COMPETITION (FRC) Students and Coaches. See if you child would be interested in any of these programs. You do not have to have a children who is inclined to STEM. Students who are interested in writing, business, communication, photography and more will find a place in our teams.

Hackground is 501 (3) (C) non profit supporting community based STE(A)M activities, with a mission to provide and organize programs for students from Kindergarten all the way through high school.

 

What is STE(A)M ?

 

STE(A)M fields is an acronym for the fields of study in the categories of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. The initiative began to include arts and design in STEM fields education.

  • EXPLORE ROBOTICS AND PROGRAMMING WITH LEGO® EV3

    This camp is geared for rising 5th, 6th and 7th graders. The goal of the camp is to get students ready for the FIRST lego league competition. Students will learn the concepts of prototyping their robots using Lego Digital Designer. Then moving on to learning how to program their robot using the Lego Mindstorm for programming their robots. By the end of the week the students will be well prepared to be part of a FIRST Lego League team this coming season. Based on the knowledge level of the students we will explore other possibilities that can be done with a Lego EV3 robot.
